PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
Responsible to provide the best practices for 24 hour crisis line/mental health Triage services, utilizing the Recovery Model. Performs the mental health professional function for the NSMHA Integrated Crisis Response System, provides professional assessment and crisis intervention to NSMHA service recipients, decides when face-to face services are indicated and dispatches Crisis Outreach and DMHP/DCR staff. Provide certification for medical necessity inpatient hospital admissions. Guides community members and their families, other providers through the ICRS. Provides professional consultation and support. Troubleshoots complex cases and provides a central coordination role in cross-systems referrals. Coordinates with police, hospitals, and other emergency services providers to provide timely access to the array of crisis services offered by the ICRS.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years experience as a mental health professional working with priority populations. Master’s degree in behavioral science, counseling or related field. Certified as a mental health counselor within 30 days of employment required; licensure in the State of Washington preferred. Able to work in a busy, stressful environment. Training or experience working with clients in crisis and/or emergency mental health situation preferred. Suicide intervention training/ experience highly desired. Good computer skills and typing.
