VOAWW AmeriCorps*VISTA Team
AmeriCorps*VISTA positions with VOAWW's 12-member VISTA team are currently available at non-profit organizations throughout Snohomish County. AmeriCorps*VISTA is a national service program dedicated to fighting poverty in communities throughout the country. VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members dedicate one year of their lives to full-time, stipended service designing, building, and sustaining anti-poverty programs. VOAWW's VISTA Team has fought poverty in Snohomish County since 1994.
How to Apply
Applying to become an AmeriCorps*VISTA member with our team is a two-step process:
(1) Please review the position description and email a current resume and cover letter to the AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader at vista-ldr@voaww.org. Please include the position title in the subject line.
(2) Please go to www.americorps.gov and fill out an online application for the position. Use the site’s “Advanced Search” function and search “VOAWW.”

VISTA Program Benefits:
While serving, VOAWW AmeriCorps*VISTA members receive:
- $1055 gross monthly living stipend
- Health Benefits
- $550.00 for relocation assistance (if 50miles + from your site)
- Up to $500.000 for shipment of baggage
- Childcare Assistance (up to $400 per child per month)
- Monthly Professional Development Trainings
- 10 days of vacation leave & 10 days of sick leave for the year
After the successful completion of their terms, VISTA members receive:
- $5,350 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or $1,500 cash end-of-year award
- Non-competitive eligibility for federal employment
VISTA Program Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be a US Citizen or legal US resident
- Must be able to commit to one-year of full time service, with no outside employment
- Other requirements depend upon the position.
