2-1-1/Community Information and Referral
North Sound 2-1-1 Helps People Get Connected - and Get Answers
Every day, someone in the United States needs essential services-from finding a shelter, to locating quality care for a child or an aging parent. Faced with a dramatic increase in the number of agencies and specialized help-lines, people often do not know where to turn. In many cases, people end up going without these necessary services because they do not know where to start.
Likewise, people in the community are looking to give their time and resources to a good cause. Be it a donation of food or clothing, spending time with someone in hospice care, or wanting to lend a vital hand during a disaster - people want to help those in need.
2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that, where available, connects people with important community services, volunteer opportunities, and places to make donations. People in Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties can call North Sound 2-1-1 for information about local transportation, employment options, professional and personal development, and volunteer opportunities. When you call North Sound 2-1-1, you connect with a call center that is overseen by 2-1-1 US, which now serves over 80% of the US population.
North Sound 2-1-1 is a partnership of Volunteers of America Western Washington and United Way of Snohomish County.
