Emergency Mental Health Services

Bob's life was spiraling out of control. He felt like there was nowhere to go, and nothing to live for.

When Bob lost his job, wife and home, he felt as if his whole world was crumbling around him. Bob felt hopeless and alone. He called the Care Crisis line and got Adam on the other end. Adam was able to help Bob through a dark day in his life and connect him with the help and resources he needed to see a brighter day.

It’s because of these deeply painful moments of crisis that Volunteers of America Care Crisis Response Services exists. Every hour of every single day, a team of highly trained, culturally and spiritually diverse professionals with a common purpose are committed to responding to all community members and their families in crisis and emergency situations, keeping consumers, emergency workers, and the community safe in the least restrictive manner. Their mission for themselves and the people they counsel: Above all, do no harm.

We take the time to talk, listen, and work with callers to identify the best way through a crisis. This includes talking an issue through, accessing a case manager or other community resource, or dispatching emergency service personnel.
