I Remember Mama Luncheon

Mother's Day Luncheon Honors and Uplifts

Being alone is hard enough. For a mother, being alone on Mother’s Day is especially difficult. To bring mothers the honor they so richly deserve, Volunteers of America Senior Companion Program hosts its annual I Remember Mama Mother’s Day celebration.

This annual community and fundraising event is designed to honor limited-income senior women who would be without family and alone on Mother’s Day. About 150 elderly women are treated to an unforgettable luncheon featuring speakers, entertainment, great food, gifts, and a raffle of wonderful prizes.

Event proceeds support our mission to uplift and empower seniors year-round

The event also raises money for the Senior Companion Program, with proceeds supporting the needs of seniors and adults with disabilities all year long.

Community support is essential and there are many ways to help and make a large impact:

  • Monetary gifts
  • Individual cash sponsorships in honor or memory of a loved one
  • Table and seat cash sponsorships to promote your business and honor your employees
  • Item donations for the fundraising raffle
  • Assistance with raffle ticket sales
  • Referrals of honoree Mothers
  • Volunteer time at the annual event
  • Gifts for participating elderly mothers
  • In-kind donations of various types
  • Joining the I Remember Mama planning committee
