Sky Valley Services

Teen on brick wall

When his mother entered rehab, Alex was homeless and a high school drop out, spiraling down a bad path.

Without a family support system, Alex (name has been changed for privacy) was living out of a garage. He was a frequent visitor of the Sky Valley Safe Stop Program. There he was able to connect with resources and receive the support and encouragement he needed to enroll back into school. When his mother had finished her treatment, Volunteers of America assisted them with housing. Now Alex and his mother are back on track and reunited as a family.

As the only service provider east of Monroe to offer basic needs and support resources for families, seniors and youth -Volunteers of America Sky Valley Services takes its role as a critical service provider seriously. However, fulfilling basic needs is only one part of a larger mission to build community and engage local residents in community issues, initiatives and resource development.

We encourage all community members to take responsibility for transforming our society into a supportive and nurturing place to live, work and raise families. Through our diverse programs, we are committed to serving those in the Skykomish Valley, along Highway 2 between Snohomish and Skykomish, and hope that others will join with us to build healthy communities in this beautiful region.
