Providing Health Care Access
For people without dental coverage, the white van is a welcome sight. It comes regularly, though not often, so when it schedules time at Volunteers of America Sky Valley Resource Center, people are lined up to take advantage.
The Dental Van is sponsored by Northwest Medical Teams, Regence Blue Shield, Puget Sound Energy, Boeing Employees’ Community Fund, Delta Dental and Washington Dental Service Foundation. The coalition sympathized with low-income individuals and families without access to dental health opportunities and decided to take the solution on the road - in a large, white van.
It travels around the State offering its complimentary dental services, and always makes sure one of its regular stops is at Sky Valley Resource Center in Sultan. The Center in turn makes sure it promotes each visit with the most vulnerable residents in the area, helping priorite health care access to those who need it.
