AmeriCorps*VISTA members make a big difference in their communities.  They also make a big difference in their own lives by gaining skills and experience to build paths towards new careers and life-long service to their communities.

Project C.A.R.E. VISTA members benefit from: 
  • Monthly Trainings:  Build nonprofit leadership skills in areas such as fundraising, communications, and leadership
  • Non-Profit & Public Sector Experience: Gain one year of real experience working in the non-profit or public sector at an agency of your choice
  • Full-Time Support: Receive consistent guidance and support from your supervisor and other professionals

While serving, AmeriCorps*VISTA members receive:

  • $1055.00 gross monthly living stipend (paid once every two weeks)
  • Health benefits
  • $550.00 for relocation assistance (if 50miles + from your site) and up to $500.000 for shipment of baggage
  • Childcare assistance

After the successful completion of their terms, VISTA members receive:

  • $5,350 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or $1,500 cash end-of-year award
  • Non-competitive eligibility for federal employment

General Requirements     

  • Ages 18+ are eligible to serve.
  • Must be able to commit one-year of full-time service with no outside employment
  • Depending on the position for which you apply, you may be asked to meet other qualifications such as: college coursework or degree, previous work or volunteer experience, second-language fluency, etc.

How do I apply?

Applying to become an AmeriCorps*VISTA member with our team is a two-step process:

(1)     Please go to www.americorps.gov and fill out an online application for the position.
