  • Lead Food Bank Volunteer
    Assists in leading and directly supervising fellow volunteers in the performance of food bank tasks and activities. Such activities may include, but are not limited to, repacking bulk food, packing food baskets, stocking shelves, sorting canned and dry food, assisting customers, and general cleaning. The Lead Food Bank Volunteer will work in unison with the volunteer coordinator to ensure the daily operations of the Food Bank are safe, clean, and efficient as well as to serve the needs of our community.
  • Front Office Volunteer
    Assists front office of the Food Bank with paperwork, answer questions, guiding individuals through the sometimes confusing process of receiving food donations, and ensuring that our clients receive the help that they need.
  • Food Rescue Assistant
    The Greenwood Food Bank is in need of a volunteer to assist driver with the collection and distribution of perishable and non-perishable food. The Food Rescue assistant will meet the truck driver at the Greenwood Food Bank, ride along with the assigned driver on the predetermined route, and assist with food collection from donation sites, and unload food when returning to the food bank.
  • Home Delivery Assistant
    Will assist drivers with the distribution of home deliveries to in-bound seniors and individuals with disabilities. The assistant will help with the loading of home delivery food into the food bank truck, ride along with the assigned driver on the predetermined route, and assist with food distribution to our clients.
  • Assistant Recreational Travel Facilitator
    Assist with traveling logistics (airplane, van, cruise ship etc.), help facilitate positive experiences for participants, maintain positive attitude throughout trip, attend to needs of participants as needed.
  • Receptionist Volunteer
    Perform various receptionist/administrative duties in the day-to-day operation of the Greenwood Food Bank.

    The Classroom Assistant position is an opportunity to support the classroom teachers in preparing educational tasks and duties for both school and after-school work. Volunteers will also be able to contribute to classroom projects such as reading and artwork as well assists the lead teacher in child supervision for both classroom and outdoor activities.
  • Help Desk Volunteer
    The Help Desk Volunteer will help with lobby coverage: they will greet and direct clients as they drop by the center, along with filing, data entry, and other duties as assigned.

  • Life Skills/CVM Volunteer
    Life Skills/CVM (Community Voicemail)Volunteer will help support an adult education program that promotes self-sufficiency for clients in emergency shelter and transitional housing. They will also support a program that helps homeless and low income individuals reconnect with loved ones and access housing, medical, and social services.
  • IT Maintenance Position
    Assist in maintaining efficient IT services to the 500 Volunteers of America staff members.

    IT Data Entry Position will assist IT Director in creating spreadsheets, data entry, filing, and other duties as assigned.
  • Jail Transition Support Group Volunteer
    Jail Release Support Group Volunteer with the Housing and Transitional Services (HATS Program) will facilitate support groups for former inmates. These support groups will provide an outlet and resource for men and women in transition.
  • Food Bank Assistant Volunteer
    The Food Bank Assistant helps clients with food bank shopping. They also help with restocking products in coolers, freezers, and shelves.
  • Recreation/Education Program Assistant
    The Recreation/Education Program Assistant helps plan and implement weekly recreational activities and life-skills workshops for adults with Developmental Disabilities.
  • Distribution Center Assistant Volunteer
    The Distribution Center Assistant will help the Distribution Center Manager with warehouse and related functions.
