Title: Food Rescue Assistant

General Function:
The Greenwood Food Bank is in need of a volunteer to assist driver with the collection and distribution of perishable and non-perishable food. The Food Rescue assistant will meet the truck driver at the Greenwood Food Bank, ride along with the assigned driver on the predetermined
route, and assist with food collection from donation sites, and unload food when returning to the food bank.

Qualifications:
Ability to work as a team player and interact appropriately with the professional community at the donation sites. Able to bend and lift 50 pounds. Be familiar with Volunteers of America’s mission and facts.

Principle Activities:
Able to bend and lift 50 pounds
Able to perform a variety of tasks assigned
Be a team player
Be flexible
Adhere to safety requirements
Follow proper food handling and storage techniques
Possess friendly and positive attitude
Enthusiasm for public service

End Results:
Volunteer advocate for Volunteers of America’s mission
Support services provided are efficient and effective
Contributes to the successful operation of incoming donations
Hunger among low-income families and individuals will be reduced
