Program Name:
Life Skills Education Program & Community Voice Mail
Goal of Program:
The Life Skills Program is a comprehensive adult education program designed to promote self-sufficiency. Our classes are uniquely tailored to the needs of those in transition due to housing, employment or other life changes. Community Voice Mail provides free voice mail to people in need.
Volunteer Activities:
- Clerical duties such data entry, filing, and organizing.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Keeping the system updated, which may involve calling clients.
Benefits of Volunteering with Program:
- Help support an adult education program that promotes self-sufficiency for clients in emergency shelter and transitional housing.
- Also support a program that helps homeless and low income individuals
reconnect with loved ones and access housing, medical and social services.
Requirements (knowledge/skills)?
- Must be able to keep client information confidential.
- Should be detail orientated.
- Be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer.
Prerequisite Information:
Conduct background check
Complete volunteer placement application
Sign Confidentiality Agreement
Timeframe: This is an ongoing volunteer position.
Weekdays: Hours vary between 8:30am- 5pm.
Hours and term of commitment: 10 hours a month preferably with availability on Thursdays or Fridays. At least a 6 month commitment is required.
In order to volunteer for us in King or Snohomish County, you must first attend a Tour/Orientation.
