Program Name:
Life Skills Education Program
Goal of Program:
The Life Skills Program is a comprehensive adult education program
designed to promote self-sufficiency. Our classes are uniquely tailored to the needs of those in transition due to housing, employment or other life changes.
Volunteer Activities:
- Collaborate with the Life Skills Case Manager to develop and implement
workshop curriculum and materials.
- Co-facilitate a workshop for up to 15 men and women.
- Work with clients on interviewing skills, resume writing, using Word, internet & email.
Benefits of Volunteering with Program:
Support a program that helps those who are unemployed or underemployed find a job.
Requirements (knowledge/skills)?
- Must have some teaching experience.
- Must be experienced with the following: Microsoft Word, internet, email,
attaching documents, and writing resumes.
- Be comfortable interacting with diverse populations.
Prerequisite Information:
Conduct background check
Complete volunteer placement application
Sign Confidentiality Agreement
Timeframe:
Every Friday morning from 9-10:30, time may vary depending on class
preparation. Flexible hours and term of commitment: At least a 6 month commitment is required.
In order to volunteer for us in King or Snohomish County, you must first attend a Tour/Orientation.
