Title: Receptionist Volunteer

General Function:
Perform various receptionist/administrative duties in the day-to-day operation of the Greenwood Food Bank.

Qualifications:
Pleasant and professional personality. Strong verbal communication skills. General office procedures, ability to handle multi-tasks and volunteer in a fast paced volunteer environment.
Ability to patiently and respectfully volunteer with low-income families and individuals requesting assistance. Be neat and clean in appearance. Familiarity with Volunteers of America’s facts and mission statement.

Principle Activities:

- Meet, greet, process clients and visitors upon arrival
- Present agency to the public by answering incoming phone lines and transferring the caller to the appropriate Basic Needs Services staff or voicemail
- Good oral, professional telephone manner
- Respond to phone requests for referrals
- Be familiar with Volunteers of America facts, and mission statement
- Administrative tasks
- Maintain an organized, clean, safe work area
- Time commitment is project driven and varies depending on need

End Results:
Professional, efficient and effective handling of all clients, and phone calls
Support services provided are efficient and effective
Work area is organized, efficient, effective, clean and safe
Volunteer clerical tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
The function of the volunteer receptionist positively reflects on the Volunteers of America to donors, agencies, service recipients and the public
Hunger among low-income families and individuals will be reduced
