Title: Warehouse/Food Bank Aide

General Function:
Will perform various tasks in the Greenwood Food Bank, including but not limited to repacking bulk foods, packing food baskets, stocking shelves, sorting misc. can and dry food, and general cleaning. Will assist in the effective day-to-day operation of the food bank.
Qualifications:
Must be able to follow instructions and interact appropriately with various low-income and diverse populations in a non-discriminatory manner. Ability to lift 35 pounds preferred but not mandatory.
Principal Activities:
Repack bulk donations of food for food bank distribution
Restock cupboards with donated food
Assist food bank consumers in shopping area
Maintains a pest free food bank and warehouse
Adhere to safety requirements
Adhere to safe and proper food handling/storage techniques
End Results:
Product is safeguarded from theft and spoilage
Maintains a clean and pest free facility
Maintains a safe working environment
Contributes to the successful operation of the food bank
The function of the food bank positively reflects on the Volunteers of America to donors, agencies, service recipients and the public
Hunger among low-income families and individuals will be reduced
