Youth Action Team: A High School Volunteer Program

Calling All High School Students!
Youth Action Team is designed to build character, cultivate leadership & inspire collaborative thinking through volunteering 


Get in the Action!
Youth Action Team is a national volunteer program for high school students funded by the Major League Baseball Players Association and administered by Volunteers of America. High school students are selected to be Action Team Captains and work together to make a difference in their community.  Since 2002, 90,000 people have been helped by these caring & dedicated teens across the U.S.


The Western Washington Action Team:
The Western Washington Action Team is made up Snohomish County high school students that want to volunteer.  Together, we make a difference in the community! At our monthly meetings we participate in leadership & character building activities, listen to influential guest speakers and volunteer locally! 

2010 - 2011 Accomplishments:
• Collected school supplies for 168 low income preschoolers
• Collected nearly 300 lbs of food for the Sultan Food Bank in one weekend
• Collected 3,779 lbs of food for the Everett Food Bank over the holiday season
• Created over 300 Valentine’s Day cards that were delivered to seniors in-need in the Everett area
• Received a total of $4,500 in college scholarship money from the MLBPA

Requirements:
• Must be a Snohomish County High School student (9-12)
• Submit a Youth Action Team application sharing why you think volunteering is important
• Make a commitment to the Action Team for one year (4hrs/month, August – May)
• No fees & No GPA requirements!
• Have a passion for giving back!
