Housing and Homeless Prevention

Mother comforting child EVERYONE - especially a child - should have a safe place to sleep at night

Every family, every child, every citizen of our community should have a place to call home. Our Homelessness Prevention and Housing and Transitional Services Programs are designed to work with the family to address and resolve the issues and obstacles that contributed to the problem. We focus on self-sufficiency so once families leave our program, we are confident they will maintain stable housing.

We offer a range of services and prioritize homeless prevention.  It creates much less disruption and anxiety on the family involved, and frankly costs the community much, much less than the alternative. To that end, we offer:

  • rent and mortgage assistance: available the first Monday of the month
  • deposit loans
  • I.D.A. collaborative savings match program

However, if a family finds themselves homeless - and if they qualify to be the 1 out of 6 families that can actually find available emergency housing resources - then we can offer:

  • Emergency shelter services, up to 90 days
  • Transitional housing services, up to two years
  • Intensive case management, which offers individualized family service plans for EACH household we work with
