Our mission is to create affordable, accessible vacations and recreation opportunities with flexible pre-packaged and custom-designed itineraries.  We keep costs low, and guarantee both individuals and groups great memories that last a lifetime! We know how important each adventure is to our participants, and our caring, fun-loving, inclusive volunteers consistently go above and beyond expectation to make each Recreational Options experience something to write home about over ... and over ... and over.

Summer Camp Adventures 2008

We hope you joined us a week this summer - what a great time!  We packed five one-week trips with swimming, arts and crafts, field games, hikes, daily campfire and so much more. 

One night found us line dancing the Macarena.  "You should have seen the wheelchairs and walkers rolling around, we looked like frolicking high schoolers!",says one summer camp counselor.

Another day found Sandy laughing hysterically as she dyed socks in arts and crafts.  She is deaf and blind and she did not actual "dye" anything - she found incredible joy in simply squeezing the bottle!

One evening found the sun setting on a campfire event full of enthusiasm for skits, camp staff banter, and just a general good time.  Then, as the evening fun was closing with the melancholy ’As I Went Down to the River’, campers came on stage and stood silently.  Very poignant, very heartfelt, very difficult to move past the moment without tears.

Dynamic, competent staff
Each of our staff members are passionate for creating recreational opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.  Our staff to traveller ratio averages 1:2 and never exceeds 1:4.  The bottom line is that we love what we do, and are good at it - let us prove it to you!

Flexible itineraries
Each group is different, and have different standards for what makes a great vacation.  With that in mind, whether a trip is pre-packed or custom designed, our staff is always prepared with a variety of travel options and time to advantage of spontaneous opportunities that spark the eye and interest of our travellers.

By the way, we can accomodate travellers with toileting and bathing independence and those with the ability to participate in goups of five or more.  For those with more severe developmental disabilities, additional staff can be arranged for an additional, reasonable cost.  We also can accomodate and assist travellers with physical disabilities.
