Fostering Pride and Independence to Help Guys Like Kent Reach Their Full Potential There’s no doubt about it, Kent is one cool guy. And, like more cool people, Kent struck out on his own, made his own decisions, and decided what he needed in his life to live it to the fullest. Kent is very good at getting what he wants. Unlike most twenty-eight-year-olds, however, Kent has cerebral palsy. When he realized that he needed specialized support to meet his needs, Kent turned to Volunteers of America and worked closely with its staff regarding his own care and providers. He now lives with two roommates, loves being self-directed and enjoys the independence his life allows.
Our Disability Services include our state-recognized Supported Living program and our Recreational Options guided tour and recreation experiences. Each is designed specifically for adults with developmental disabilities, fostering independence at the level each individual can achieve successfully. Each program operates with a mission focus, knowing that as it reaches its goals that an adult with developmental disabilities will be choosing life experiences that help them be the best that they can be ... just like anyone else. Independence and self-reliance are words that describe the dreams and goals
for individuals with developmental disabilities. Find out how Greater Residential Options delivers a program that empowers each person’s ability to experience the highest possible quality of life through supported living in their own homes.
