Finding the right care for your child(ren)

Child Care Resource & Referral of Snohomish County knows how important quality child care is to parents’ peace of mind as they work and go to school to better provide for their family.  Knowing this, we offer parenting support and free child care referral services to help families locate and choose the right care for their children.

Child Care Referrals  
Child Care Resource & Referral can help you locate child care. We offer a free referral service with information to help you locate and choose quality child care based on your family’s individual needs:

  • Location-home, work, elementary school service area
  • Age of children
  • Hours and days of the week care is needed
  • Type of care
  • Special needs services
  • Subsidies

Child Care Subsidies & Funding Assistance

  • Child Care Funding Assistance
    Funded by United Way of Snohomish County and a grant from Bank of America, Volunteers of America’s Child Care Funding Assistance Program is available to income qualifying Snohomish County parents who are going to school or are involved in an education based training program. Financial assistance is based upon a sliding fee scale and covers a portion of child care costs.
  • Chemical Dependency Child Care Assistance
    Funded by Snohomish County Human Services, Alcohol and Other Drugs Division, this program provides 100% child care funding assistance coverage for parents attending Chemical Dependency Treatment. To apply for funding, you must be referred by your treatment counselor.

  • Working Connections Child Care Assistance
     The Working Connections Child Care Assistance Program helps families pay for child care while parents are working or are in a DSHS approved work activity and whose children meet citizenship requirements. Your household income and the number of people in your family determine your eligibility. Your child care costs (or co-payment) are determined on a sliding scale. Classes for Parents
Childcare Resource and Referral offers monthly workshops that are open to parents and child care providers that offer tips and tools to enrich and develop the minds and lives of children.  Our trainers are industry professionals with many years of experience, bringing both technical skills and practical insight into our classrooms.  See our current newsletter for workshop dates, locations and descriptions.
