Not so with Volunteers of America The Theodora. Our full-service facility in northeast Seattle has provided affordable housing in a safe, supportive environment for over 40 years. Its a place that our residents call ’home’, a place with caring, responsive staff that foster an environment in which the seniors, veterans and adults with disabilties who live there can thrive.
The 134-bed facility provides three meals a day, seven days a week, as well as housekeeping service and 24-hour staffing. The facility’s spirit leads program staff to not only nurture residents’ physical needs, but also to offer the best quality of life possible. Residents may choose from a variety of leisure activities, including bus tours to Mt. Vernon during Tulip Festival, transportation to a Mariners game and visits to the downstairs computer resource center which offers free wireless Internet access. In fact, many residents are learning about computers, email and the Internet for the first time, while experienced users enjoy teaching what they’ve learned to others.
Recently, with a generous grant from the Boeing Employees’ Community Fund, the entire phone system at The Theodora was upgraded. Residents were thrilled with the announcement which led to the installation of private phones in all their rooms. This gives residents the option of easily staying in touch with family and friends as well as with the medical and community resources that they depend on. Now, that is the comfort of home. If you are a senior, veteran or have a disability, and are looking for affordable housing in Seattle, call us at 206-523-3565. We would be happy to help determine if The Theodora is the right ’home’ for you! Feed Hungry Families
