2017 March Against Hunger
Every year, Snohomish County employees work together to raise funds, food and awareness for the March Against Hunger campaign in support of VOAWW Hunger Prevention Services. Currently, 1 in 7 families do not know where there next meal is coming from. March Against Hunger aims to raise awareness and support for our neighbors in need. Each department competes to raise the most donations to support Hunger Prevention Services. The departments take their friendly competition seriously. In 2016, the county raised over $43,600.00 and over 6,000 pounds of food. They host bake sales, auctions and for the first time this year; a sock hop! With such past successes, Snohomish County has set the goal in 2017 to raise $50,000 dollars to help reduce hunger in Snohomish County.
Every $1.75 donated goes to providing a healthy meal to one of the 52,000 people a year we serve through our food banks and the Snohomish County Distribution Center. Volunteers of America Western Washington, on behalf of the families we serve graciously thank all of the employees of Snohomish County for their support, passion and dedication. Do you want to join in and make a difference? Make a donation and join Snohomish County to help your neighbors today.
