Overview
This role provides intake, listens to parties, shares information, conflict coaches, conciliates, schedules mediation/meet & confer and mediates as needed. Provides information and support that increases the
likelihood of successful case outcomes. Sets up and maintains files; and refers to legal resources. Works closely with renters, landlords and attorneys to help resolve eviction issues. Uses active listening
techniques and conflict resolution skills to assist parties.
Principal Activities
Provide services from intake to case closure, including, working with the Unlawful Detainer team.
Use active listening techniques and conflict resolution skills to provide information on services.
Understand and complete ERAP application forms.
Act as intermediary between landlords, tenants, and attorneys when needed.
Schedule and hold meet and confers or mediations
Build strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and the legal community.
Attend required training and in-services.
Other duties that relate to the DRC Early Resolution Program as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
40 Hour Basic Mediation Training required
Computer literate
Organized
Customer service oriented and professional
Excellent oral communication skills
Within first week watch trainings on Unlawful Detainer, Fair Housing, and Conciliation.
