Disability Services

Our mission, in partnership with the people we serve, is committed to the enhancement of non-traditional supports by encouraging personal choices, self-directed living, and community involvement. Our program makes a positive impact on the lives of people by providing efficient, effective services and supports which allow individuals to live in their own homes and apartments in the community.

Volunteers of America Western Washington prides itself on connecting people with developmental disabilities to living situations and experiences that foster independence and enhance self-esteem. Our services give those with developmental disabilities opportunities for community involvement and the richness that life affords to anyone who is motivated to search for it. Our Disability Services include our state-recognized Supported Living program and our Recreational Options guided tour and recreation experiences. Each program is designed specifically for adults with developmental disabilities, fostering independence at the level each individual can achieve successfully. Each program operates with a mission focus, knowing that as it reaches its goals, an adult with developmental disabilities will be choosing life experiences that help them be the best that they can be—just like anyone else.

Independence and self-reliance are words that describe the dreams and goals for individuals with developmental disabilities, and Volunteers of America Disability Services - Supported Living program is committed to empowering each person’s ability to experience the highest possible quality of life through supported living in their own homes.

Training Department now open to other agency staff. Volunteers of America Western Washington has been training internal Direct Support Professionals for over 15 years and now we are opening our doors to other Supported Living agencies.
